A setlist from the second Dutch show in Arnhem. A great reworked set including a truly epic 15 minute outing of Savage Earth Heart which included a story midway through. This was a very special show filled with very special moments, including a great crowd singalong of And a Bang on the Ear when the song had finished. This prompted Mike to start up the song again on electric guitar with some wild playing from James and Brother Paul and they finally brought this 'reprise' version to a close, to wild cheers and applause. Thank you Willem and Christophe Van Rompaey.
A setlist from the third and final Dutch show of this mini-tour. A fantastic show in such a fantastic venue! Another action packed show including an equally epic outing of Savage Earth Heart. Thank you Eamon.

The acoustics at Caseta de Los Jardinillos are great and the band's energy was simply electric. Mike's guitar playing was spellbinding. This was the Best WBs gig I've seen in a very long timeā¦ They have become so much tighter because of the intense gigging. Mike was in a great mood. They all were.'

We were all collectively knocked sideways when Mike performed a stunning rendition of Piper At the Gates Of Dawn to end the second set. This was the first performance of this gem since Findhorn in June 2006. Mike read the text from an enormous book before strapping on his guitar to play a beautiful subtle guitar solo at the close of the piece. This show will go down in folklore as the Piper show.

A first version setlist from the first show in The Spiegeltent, Wexford on November 1st 2023. This was an absolutely fabulous show in a beautiful venue. The stage was tiny with the band within touching distance of each other and the audience! Mike told the band members that they would play All Souls Hill instead of When Ye Go Away in the first set. And unusually, he would make changes to the second set at the break.
Thank you Debra.

This Is The Sea had to be heard to be believed. Just before This Is The Sea Mike brought out a Venetian mask which, after he told us about it, threw it into the audience. The mask ended up in the hands of a wheelchair bound fan who was in the front row.
This was an emotional powerhouse of a show which included a rare outing of The Bigger Picture with Mike on Piano. This was a free show and the band found themselves as man down due to James Hallawell being ill, so it was a four man show with Mike, Aongus, Eamon and special guest Anto. This made for a very interesting setlist with some rare gems played for the first time in years. Thank you for the report and setlist Christophe Van Rompaey.

Set list from The Music Hall, Aberdeen which saw Mike treat us to a recitation of the biting poem 'The Bullingdon Club', this was followed by a thunderous drum solo from Ralph (a sight to behold!) with these very sticks in the photo. Quite possibly, the first-ever drum solo at a Waterboys show.
Set list from the final show of a short Scottish tour inThe Barrowland, Glasgow with fabulous support from Psyche (Mike's old mates from Ayr, with Midge on guitar, Arnie on keys and Stoker on bass). Although not listed (and after we heard it over the PA at the last show here in 2018) Mike sang 'Glasgow Has Been Good to Me', in the #5 slot, which was a live debut. Later in the set we were treated yet another surprise, a rousing version of 'Sailing' (dedicated to Muscle Shoals co-founder and legend, the late Jimmy Johnson) with a wonderful lead vocal by Zeenie.

And the show finished with 'The Whole of the Moon.'
A very powerful show in the Playhouse. Although they played the same set as the London Palladium gig in April, this show had even more feeling as Mike was clearly delighted to be back in Scotland.
A truly magnificent and very special show in the Barras. One of the greatest shows this web author has witnessed in fact.
The connection (or communion), the love even, between the band and the audience in the Barrowland Ballroom was palpable.
Earthpower, ancient magic and elemental energy in abundance!
And we were treated to a special song 'Glasgow Has Been Good To Me' over the P.A. as the band made their grand entrance on stage.

A very powerful set in front of the home crowd, with impromptu jams at the end of 'Medicine Bow' and 'All The Thing She Gave Me'.

Listed below are all of the set lists from the Irish Tour which was an absolute triumph!
Set list from The Crescent Concert Hall Drogheda. A Club type show in a small venue. Only 300 standing on the floor with seating for another 300 at sides and rear.
We got extended workouts of many songs with 'Morning Came Too Soon' dropped from first set. Instead we heard a spellbinding extended outing of 'Man What A Woman' with a fine solo by Mike to close the first set.
Most of the acoustic songs due to be played in second set were changed so the second set ran like this: 'Connemara Fox', 'When Ye Go Away' + 'Dunfords Fancy', 'Santa Fe', 'Fisherman's Blues' and 'The Whole Of the Moon'. The encore was 'How Long Will I Love You'. A fantastic warm-up show that left us all baying for more!
Set list from The Leisureland, Galway. (Report pending) Thank you Sally Greenberg.
Set list from the first show in Vicar St. A powerhouse performance through and through and a fantastic atmosphere made this an unforgettable evening. We also got I remember the 80's and a humorous take of Come Together with a crowd singalong. The rendition of Too Close To Heaven was profoundly beautiful. A special mention to Zeenie and Jess who really gave their all, in these two shows with soaring vocals while radiating pure joy throughout. And then for the encore we were treated to a guest appearance by the fabulous Camille O'Sullivan who duetted on How Long Will I Love You to close out an incredible show.
Set list from the second show in Vicar St. If anyone thought that the show on the previous night could not be equalled, they were very wrong! Tonight's show was radically different from night #1 not just with a varied set but with many of the songs played much differently than usual. From the opener 'Rosalind' with Steve playing some mean rhythm guitar, we knew something very special was afoot. All The Things She Gave Me in it's 'new' form was second out of the traps. Of special mention here is the quite remarkable version of We Will Not Be Lovers played in a totally unique way with no shared vocal by Steve on the 'Like dogs for a share' verse.
In amongst these new versions we got a wonderful story during the Nearest Thing To Hip that had the band and crowd guffawing with laughter. Again we also heard I remember the 80's and another funny take of Come Together with a short crowd singalong. Mike also led the crowd in a 'Stevo' chant which only subsided when Steve ventured centre stage, removed his hat and took a bow. The second set closed with a blistering take of Long Strange Golden Road.
And then Mike announced a special guest for the encores, none other than Gavin 'Fingers' Ralston (Brother of Aongus). Gavin played in the Mike Scott Band on the 'Still Burning' tour in the late 90's. We knew we were in for a Rock n Roll assault! First up we got a blistering extended Medicine Bow including a smoking guitar duel between Gavin and Mike and then with Steve wading into the breach too. The show closed with a raucous Fisherman's Blues with Gavin on guitar. The band really had a fun time on stage over these two nights. We left the venue in a state of rapturous delirium. Two triumphant and truly magnificent shows that will live long in the memories of all who were present.
Set list from the Opera House in Wexford town. A full-on blistering performance this evening that more or less stuck to the script and without much chatter or stories from Mike. Although not listed for the encore we got another earth-shattering outing of Long Strange Golden Road that sent the crowd home in a state of ecstasy.
During the final bows Ralph came forward and presented his drumsticks to young Gabriel Nugent who was sitting in the front row with his Dad Philip. Gabriel also received Mike's guitar plectrum and set list so quite an unforgettable occasion for the young man.
Thank you Gabriel and Philip Nugent.
Set list from the University Concert Hall in Limerick. The sole encore was Fisherman's Blues.
Thank you Marion Black and Joanna Donoghue.
Set list from the Knocknarea Arena in Sligo. Santa Fe was replaced by Rosalind in the second set and Long Strange Golden Road was not played. The sole encore was How Long Will I Love You.
Thank you Véronique Castellanos.
Set list from the Opera house in Cork. According to the testimonies of Isabelle and Michael the Cork show was an absolutely cracking show and a fitting end to the tour. The highlight being a particularly tender Too Close To Heaven. The sole encore was Fisherman's Blues.
Thank you Isabelle MSW Martin and Michael Macken.
A great looking set in Langesund with the addition of some new songs. And although not listed, the show finished with Roll Over Beethoven.
Thank you Ann Kristin K Tharaldsen and Dag Reinert Johansen!
A really wonderful show in Carrick. The new five piece with Aongus Ralston on Bass, have a real edgy sound. It was a gig filled with hightlights throughout. The guitar driven 'How Long Will I Love You' really shone in this new arrangement, and 'Fisherman's Blues' with it's punchy bass line and beat, is a song reborn! New song Connemara Fox is in a nutshell superb!
Although 'Celebrate' (a cover of Anderson Paak) was listed it was not played. But Mike did treat us to a burst of 'Hang On Sloopy' before a raucous and blazing LSGR closed what was an outstanding show.
A sensational Opening show of the 'Out Of All This Blue' Tour in Colston Hall, Bristol with new band members Jess Kavanagh, Zeenie Summers, Jon Green and Bart Walker.
The show featured a host of premieres from the new album along with reworkings of some old classics.
A fine show in Glasgow with the addition of a particularly wild outing of 'Still A Freak' in the encores which featured a ferociously brilliant duel between Mike & Steve versus Bart & Brother Paul.
A triumph of a show in Dublin with an extended set and a truly electric atmosphere. And we also had the addition of four 'extra' Ladies for the majestic 'Love Walks In'.
A one hour live special in front of a very small audience of family, friends and a few very lucky fans. A seven song 'Mini-show' peppered with questions to Mike by the host Sean Rocks. A very special evening.
Thank you Linda and Willem.
A fabulous show in Oslo by all reports. And Mike surprised the band and the crowd by launching into an unplanned and scintillating rendition of 'Purple Rain'. during the encores.
Thank you Ann Kristin K Tharaldsen and Dag Reinert Johansen.
A powerful show in Germany and again Mike surprised the band and the crowd by launching into an impromptu rendition of 'This is The Sea'. just before the end of the main set.
Thank you Christophe Van Rompaey.
A joyful and epic show in one of Mike and Steve's favourite venues which included full blown electric and funked up versions 'All The Things She Gave Me'(dedicated to the late Mark Smith), and 'How Long Will I Love You'..
